About · Editorial collective

A flight publication for Thailand writing under one editorial byline.

SiamFlights is an editorial collective focused on four corridors: Thai labor and Hajj/Umrah travel to the Gulf, Buddhist pilgrimage to the four holy sites in India and Nepal, Thai diaspora and retiree expat reverse routes, and ASEAN regional plus domestic flights during Songkran and Loy Krathong. We publish original reporting and weekly fare brackets under a single team byline — not generic travel-agency copy or press releases.

Why we publish under one byline

Every SiamFlights article carries a single byline: SiamFlights Editorial Team. Three reasons.

  • Source protection. Several contributors hold sensitive industry contacts — current airline staff, liaisons at the Office of the Sheikh-ul-Islam (Chularatchamontri) for Hajj quota administration, and in-country Hajj coordinators in Saudi Arabia. A single byline protects those sources.
  • Editorial consistency. One byline reinforces one voice across four registers — GCC-practical, Hajj-formal-respectful, Buddhist pilgrim-restrained, domestic-friendly — and one set of standards.
  • Honest process. Every article passes through author, fact-checker, and a standards editor before publishing. Crediting three editors' work to a single name would misrepresent how the work was actually done.

If you need to attribute, cite SiamFlights Editorial Team. For corrections, see Contact below.

Editorial standards

  • Two-source rule on YMYL topics — visa rules, Hajj/Umrah packages, customs thresholds, airport fees. At least one source must be a regulator (CAAT, AOT, the Office of the Sheikh-ul-Islam, the Department of Consular Affairs), or an airline IR filing.
  • THB as base currency with USD shown in parentheses where useful. Format: "฿X,XXX" with standard baht symbol.
  • Weekly fare snapshots pulled from the Travelpayouts API — never boilerplate copy. See our methodology page for full data-collection details.
  • Industry vocabulary used as-is (CAAT, AOT, IATA). English loanwords appear only where no standard Thai term exists.
  • Affiliate disclosure on every relevant page — see disclosure.
  • No political commentary; no reference to sensitive legal topics. Coverage is travel-pragmatic and fare-focused only.

How we work

  • Author + fact-checker on different desks. Every article passes through at least two editors before publication; YMYL pieces (visas, Hajj rules, compensation claims) go through an additional standards check.
  • Dated corrections. Material errors get a public correction note at the top of the article with the date of the change.
  • "Last verified" stamp. The date shown on each article reflects when the data sources behind that page were last cross-checked. We do not bump it without an actual re-verification pass.
  • No paid placement. Hotel and route reviews carry explicit disclosure when affiliate links are present; airline rankings are not pay-to-play.

What SiamFlights is NOT

We are not a travel agency. You book directly through Aviasales, Hotellook, Skyscanner, Trip.com, or Booking.com links; SiamFlights earns a small commission at no additional cost to you, which funds our operation without pop-up ads or pay-to-play airline rankings.
