Editorial Policy

SiamFlights is an independent aviation editorial site for Thai readers — Thai workers in the GCC, Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, Buddhist pilgrims, the Thai diaspora abroad, and ASEAN business travellers. Our readers make real financial decisions based on what we publish. This policy lays out how we research and verify our recommendations.

Editorial team

Articles are published under the SiamFlights Editorial Team byline. Every YMYL article is signed off by the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor before publication. See the masthead at About page.

YMYL designation

The following article categories are treated as YMYL and subject to the two-source rule:

• Visa rules and processing times (Schengen, UK, US, Saudi)
• Hajj / Umrah quota allocation, pilgrim package costs, Saudi Ministry of Hajj rules
• Thai overseas-worker recruitment rules and fees (TOEA, Department of Employment)
• Airline baggage allowance and excess-baggage rates
• THB-USD-SAR FX and remittance guidance
• Specific fare quotes attached to a calendar date

Every load-bearing factual claim in a YMYL article must be supported either by (a) two independent regulator citations, or (b) one regulator citation plus one airline Investor Relations filing or published scheduled-flight timetable.

Source hierarchy

1. Thai authorities: CAAT (Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand), Sheikh-ul-Islam Office (Chularajmontri) for Hajj/Umrah trust, TOEA / Department of Employment for overseas-worker airline guidance, Bureau of Immigration, Buddhist Council for pilgrim-circuit context.
2. Multilateral authorities: ICAO, IATA, IOSA registry, Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Mahabodhi Society India.
3. Airline primary sources: IR filings, scheduled timetables, baggage and loyalty rules.
4. Aviation trade press: AnnaAero, FlightGlobal, ch-aviation, CAPA.
5. Thai national press: Bangkok Post, The Nation, Thai PBS, Thairath, Matichon as tertiary confirmation only.

Fact-check process

1. Research draft — sector editor drafts with inline source notes.
2. Fact-check pass — every load-bearing claim verified against the source hierarchy.
3. YMYL sign-off required for YMYL articles.
4. Pre-publication tone check — articles scanned against the SiamFlights tone-lock: no Royal Family references, no Section 112 / lese-majeste content, no Buddhist iconography disrespect, no Muslim Southern Thailand political framing, no narcotics or sex-tourism content.

Corrections policy

• Confirmed factual errors corrected within 24 hours.
• last_updated date refreshed on every correction.
• Dated Corrections note added at the bottom for material corrections.

Conflict of interest

No SiamFlights editor or contributor holds equity in an airline, OTA, travel-insurance carrier, or Hajj package operator covered in our articles. Personal-relationship conflicts are disclosed in the byline.

Use of AI / LLM

We use LLMs as research assistants — never as the final voice of an article. Every published article passes through human editorial review, fact-checking, and tone-lock compliance. Hero images are generated via fal.ai based on detailed editorial prompts.
